The Sun

The sun symbolises different things to different cultures. Most think of it as the power that produces life. Without the sun, nothing could grow and this world would be a frozen, barren, lifeless planet, just like the others in our solar system that are too far from the sun to receive warmth. In many ancient cultures, such as the Egyptians, the Sun God was the chief among the gods. Always, the sun deity was especially honoured and revered.

The Spiral

The spiral is linked to the circle, it also represents ‘coming full circle’ – thus it has no beginning and no end and is continuous, everlasting and eternal. It is an element of completeness and rhythm; it represents continual change, and the evolution of the universe.

It is an ancient symbol of the goddess, the womb, fertility and the feminine serpent force thus we are all incubators of knowledge, wisdom, power and all understanding beyond what we realise.

Bamboo Tree

“Notice that the stiffest tree is most easily cracked, while the bamboo or willow survives by bending with the wind” ~ Bruce Lee

Several Asian cultures, including that of the Andaman Islands, believe humanity emerged from a bamboo stem. In the Philippine creation myth, legend tells that the first man and the first woman each emerged from split bamboo stems on an island created after the battle of the elemental forces (Sky and Ocean).

Pink Roses

Pink roses, like yellow, are the perfect gift for just about anyone – they can mean a variety of things from “thank you for your assistance” to “I’m thinking of you.”

You can choose darker pink for someone with a wild outgoing personality and pale pink for a gift recipient who is shy or calm and collected.

Agate Blue Lace

Blue Lace Agate is a light blue stone with delicate white stripes.  It is known to bring calm and tranquillity.

Spiritually, Blue Lace Agate assists in reaching higher spiritual planes and communicating with angels. It can help one with stronger intuition and inner knowing. Inspiration is another hallmark of Blue Lace Agate and that can assist with inner atonement.

As with all agates, Blue Lace Agate is a protective stone. Its energies are more subtle than some stones, but it is effective nonetheless. Blue Lace Agate has been used to aid with arthritis, headaches, colic, digestive issues, growth, throat, skin especially eczema, and bones.

Ocean

Many believe the Ocean is the womb of the mother earth. All life comes from the sea, so the Ocean came with us, traveling within our cells… its salt water lives in your sweat and flows in our tears.

A surfer, Mark Kaplan asked “Does the ocean remind us of the womb? We lived in embryonic fluids for nine months. Do we remember?”

Avocado (incubator of life)
‘The avocado is a food without rival among the fruits, the veritable fruit of paradise’ — David Fairchild

The avocado has a hard external covering which protects it. The inside is soft, gentle, tasty, moist and enjoyable. Yet at the core the seed is hard and represents a solid inner hub.

Weaver Bird
These birds are skilled at using their strong beaks to knot and weave: the two basic skills used in basket building. To make the first fastening, the bird ties a knot by holding a strip of grass to a branch with its foot and then, using its beak, it passes the end of the strip round the branch and threads it through the turn, pulling it tight. Once the fastening is complete, the bird starts weaving. Weaver birds repeat this process until their nest is complete. It’s no doubt impossible to claim that they have acquired these skills unconsciously, by chance. These birds construct their nests like an architect and construction engineer, all rolled into one… Any person of reason and conscience will easily understand that such behaviour can occur only by the power and control of the Divine.

Weave
Archaeologists believe that basket making and weaving were probably the first “crafts” developed by humans. It is not unlikely that people might have realised the possibilities of the woven structure after observing spider webs, birds’ nests, or the construction of a beaver’s dam. It is thought that these observations led people to perfect their braiding or weaving techniques which were used in the quest for basic needs such as food, clothing and shelter e.g. floor mats that covered huts helped insulate against dampness or cold.

Gold Nugget
This is the only object that becomes more beautiful when it is exposed to heat. It is strong and valuable – perhaps that is why wedding rings have long been made of gold; it is long lasting and unaffected by the passage of time.

Gold has been highly valued in many societies throughout the ages. In keeping with this it has often had a strongly positive symbolic meaning closely connected to the values held in the highest esteem in the society in question. Gold may symbolise power, strength, wealth, great human achievements, perfect or divine principles (the golden rule and golden moment), the wisdom of aging and fruition (golden years).

The Milky Way
Have you ever looked towards the heavens and wondered how many stars there are? What can be seen from Earth is only a miniscule fraction of the total number of stars in our galaxy. The best estimate that science can make is that there is somewhere between 200 and 400 billion stars in the Milky Way alone. This can be likened to people and how little we know of them. There are many aspects of who they are that we don’t see or know about. We are more than what we appear.
