These tragic events did not stop her however from publishing five books – namely “Life Changes” (Uk – 2010), “Shades of My Brutality” (SA – 2013), “Stained for a Season, Cleaned for Life” (SA – 2013), “Overdue Resignation” (SA – 2011) and “A Good Woman/Man but Not a Great Partner” (SA – 2014).

The 5th book, including a foreword by Wendy Luhabe, will be launched at ULP House in Midrand at 2pm, in an auspicious event. The event will include a fundraising item on the agenda. This is due to the dynamo having being accepted by the New York Film Academy for a world class 12 month course in film production.

Testimonials

Buhle Dlamini – Founder and Managing Director of Young and Able cc, Author of “The Successful Young Entrepreneur” and “Invest in Yourself and Win” (This is an extract from the Foreword of Life Changes)

It is seldom that we come across a young person that is full of wisdom and experience to go with it, but that is exactly what I have encountered in Nonhlanhla. This book is testimony to the wealth of creativity and wisdom that is to be found in the exceptional youth of Africa. The poems and essays in the book are deep and cause one to stop and reconsider and at times re-prioritize one’s life values. I encourage you to immerse yourself in these writings, put yourself in the picture and let the emotions that are evoked be personal and to challenge you. We are reminded that it is not our circumstances that determine our future but rather in whose hands we have entrusted our lives. I believe that this is the first of many inspiring books to come from this up and coming powerful young writer and I am honoured to be associated with this great work.

Being born and bread is Soweto, I feel very proud to be associated with Nonhlanhla and that she is not just a person I know, but my dearest friend. She has one of the qualities which you rarely find in today’s youth.  Her book speaks for itself, it is full of wisdom, courage and you wouldn’t think a young person like her would write such big words. Words that make you think and realise that there is a lot in life than what meets the eye. It is evident that what is written in the book comes from the heart. Reading “It Gets Better with Time” I’m reminded that there is a season for everything whether good or bad it will pass in time. I know this is a start for Nonhlanhla, I believe there is a lot to come from this young inspiring woman writer. I am very proud and honoured to be called her Mentor.

It has been both a pleasure and privilege to have met and mentored Nonhlanhla.    She has lived one of my favourite messages in all the motivational talks that I do to countless women.  “Never be ashamed of where you come from” – well done for sharing your inspirational story through your book and helping other women to realise their dreams.   May you go from strength to strength and realise that there is no such thing as “I can’t achieve all that I want to.”
